The Magnificent Seven’s ‘Shawu bull’, a massive South African elephant bull, long since past, was the inspiration for the commanding Camp Shawu.

Sporting no-nonsense decor and an authentic buffalo dung construction, the camp (a satellite entity to the Kruger National Park’s Shishangeni Lodge) takes up a 15 000 hectare private concession under the Kruger National Park. Embracing the elements of fine safari accommodation, from its well appointed rooms to its relaxing decks overlooking the concession. BY AIR:

• Fly to KMIA, (the nearst airport)
• Drive to the N4 through Malelane, stay on the N4 for about 40km until the left turn into Komatipoort
• Drive through the town of Komatipoort towards Crocodile Bridge gate (8km)
• Once inside the Kruger National Park, travel for 4km and cross the Vurhami bridge
• Turn right at the first Shishangeni Lodge sign board onto a gravel road
• Turn right at the second sign board for Shishangeni Lodge (no entry sign)
• Drive for about another 10km. This road will take you straight to the lodge
• Guests will be transfered from Shishangeni to Shawu Camp

BY ROAD:

• Drive through the town of Komatipoort towards Crocodile Bridge gate (8km)
• Once inside the Kruger National Park, travel for 4km and cross the Vurhami bridge
• Turn right at the first Shishangeni Lodge sign board onto a gravel road
• Turn right at the second sign board for Shishangeni Lodge (no entry sign)
• Drive for about another 10km. This road will take you straight to the lodge
• Guests will be transfered from Shishangeni to Shawu Camp
