Route & Itinerary

Day 1-3:

On arrival in Cape Town, you collect your rental car and travel to your Hotel – the Portswood, at the trendy V&A Waterfront.

The Portswood offers guests superlative accommodation, excellent cuisine and world-class service.

The Portswood offers you a choice of 59 twin rooms, 35 double rooms or 9 suites. All rooms have air conditioning, television, tea/coffee making facilities, bathroom with bath, shower and toilet, direct dialling phones, Internet, international adaptors, fully stocked mini bars, hair dryers, Satellite TV, and 24-hour room service.

Your time in Cape Town allows you to explore extensively, including the neighbouring Winelands.

3 x nights The Portswood Hotel, Waterfront, Cape Town, on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 4:

Following your final breakfast and morning in Cape Town, you will check out of the Portswood Hotel and head towards Cape Town International Airport. Here you will drop off your car and catch your scheduled flight to Johannesburg.

On arrival in Johannesburg, you will collect your rental car, and start your trip to the Lowveld. The route takes you via the quaint town of Dullstroom, where you will stay at Critchley Hackle.

Critchley Hackle Hotel captures the unique character of Dullstroom – the timeless stone architecture and lakeside setting evoking an atmosphere of rural tranquillity. Within its walls, the hotel offers a contemporary rendering of traditional luxury. Personnel service sets the tone for an experience distinguished by fine dining, vintage wine and intimate seclusion.

The hotel is set around a lake within tranquil gardens, with 23 units accommodating a total of 58 guests.

Day 5-6:

Depart Dullstroom this morning for the Sabi Sands Game Reserve. This is a world-renowned private reserve, with excellent game viewing. Your accommodation is at Elephant Plains Lodge, which offers very comfortable accommodation, good food, excellent game viewing and great staff.

Elephant Plains Game Lodge offers you comfortable and affordable style in one of the world’s few remaining wilderness areas. Elephant Plains is a privately owned and operated property within the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, part of the 2, 2 million hectare Greater Kruger National Park. Over many years our strict conservation policies and successful habitat management have resulted in a rich diversity of fauna and flora. Here you will come face to face with Africa’s Big Five and may be lucky enough to encounter other rarer species such as the endangered wild dogs and cheetah.

2 x nights Elephant Plains Game Lodge, Sabi Sands, Mpumalanga

Day 7:

On arrival in Cape Town, you collect your rental car and travel to your Hotel – the Portswood, at the trendy V&A Waterfront.

Following your final morning game drive and breakfast, you will say goodbye to Elephant Plains and head back to Johannesburg.
